Details of Thanksgiving (Funeral) Service
DETAILS OF THE THANKSGIVING AND FUNERAL SERVICE FOR THE LATE COL. KNOCKER.
A Thanksgiving Service for Col Knocker will be held on Tuesday 14th March at 2.30 pm at the Church of the Holy Cross, Seend, Melksham, SN12 6NX. Please notify us at saf.business@dudwell.co.uk only if you are planning to attend so that we can advise family about numbers.
Parking near the church is very restricted and should not be used. Please use the parking area at the Community Centre (Rusty Lane, Seend, SN12 6NS) which is a 5 minute flat walk away (no steps)
and where the Wake will be held after the service. Any overflow parking will be on the neighbouring village playing field next to the Community Centre.
Note: the Church’s postcode is not exact. From Seend High Street the turning to the Church is just west of and opposite to Rusty Lane. There is only one church in Seend (but don’t be confused by
Seend Chapel at the very west end of the village).
Alternative transport by train is not advised. The nearest stations are Melksham - 10 mins drive away (but has a very limited service to Swindon), Chippenham (25 mins), Trowbridge (15 mins) Westbury (20 mins).

THE STORY OF THE LOST DRUMS
...WHICH WERE FOUND ABANDONED IN THE BANDHOUSE OF THE HOME COUNTIES BRIGADE IN HOWE BARRACKS, CANTERBURY, KENT.
They were returned to the Regiment and put on display at the new Museum in the Redoubt. - When the redoubt museum was closed, our collection was said to be "archived". Their exact location momentarily is unknown.
