Before we start, we should pay tribute to all the brilliant military artists who have captured, in art, our Regiment`s uniforms over the centuries. Only this, have made such a study possible. A very big thanks to :

The FIRST WORLD WAR 1914 - 1918

FIGHTING ORDER for Officer`s  1914-1918

Soon after 1914, the sword as a fighting weapon was already regarded as cumbersome & practically useless in trench-warfare - Most Officers never wore it in battle, - it was left in his corner of the trenches - they very often entered No-Man`s Land with pistol & cane only. - (Later in the War, (1916 ? ) they was discarded completely )
